Abortion
Morally wrong
because I consider it to be murder based on conception giving a unique DNA
signature to the baby. Thus I would support a ban on all abortions. If I
didn't consider it to be murder, which most countries have laws against, I would
have a difficult time saying that they shouldn't be allowed since each person's
definition of life varies.
Also, I do believe in the idea that there might be an immaterial, spiritual component to each of us. As I don't have
proof either way, I'm loathe to place a determination on the point at which a body may or may not acquire a soul.
Since it is the act of a sperm and egg meeting that starts a new life, I can only assume that, if a soul exists, it
joins in union with the physical manifestation of a human somewhere from that point onwards. Thus, I cannot make a
clear-cut determination as to when to say, "yes, it's ok to kill this".
