Although I love my current employment, if your company is looking for a dedicated technology worker for a full-time
position, I am always interested in exploring possible new opportunities. I am currently
employed as a software developer specializing in all aspects of software development from conception to deployment and beyond, including
project design. I am also a very capable and knowledgeable system administrator in both Windows and Linux environments.
I am a self-starter and a self-teacher. I am a very hands-on, visual person who likes to get 'down-and-dirty' with the project I am
involved in and get quickly to the meat of the matter. I will most likely draw you a diagram or show you
how it works vs. telling you about it, although my skills in both writing and public speaking are excellent.
I like to consider the impact of the technology I create and maintain and its effects on the
company as a whole, not just in the area in which I am working. This, I believe, is key to developing technology that works effectively.
I am interested in positions involving software design, development, deployment, and maintenance; system and network administration; technology assessment, selection, and coordination; hardware acquisition, setup, and maintenance; and other related jobs. I must have employment where my contribution is towards a visible endpoint, not just a codemonkey in a closet, hammering out the Next Best Thing™. Please note that I am only interested in full-time employment with benefits at this time, unless the job can be telecommute. I prefer companies that are well-established but am open to the possibility of working somewhere groundbreaking. Due to my current location, housing, etc. contract work (including contract-to-hire) is too unstable to consider. I have responsibilities towards my family to fulfill and I cannot let them down. I am interested in employment in both the United States and Australia. In the US, I am primarily interested in the Midwest area, in particular Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin, centering in or around the tri-state area. I am also open to positions in Western regions. I am not much of a "big city" boy and would find myself more comfortable in a less-busy area. I currently live in the USA but am willing to relocate to Australia. Since I am married to an Australian citizen, I would be able to enter on a spousal visa and obtain employment almost immediately; however, I would have to process the proper visa requirements prior to relocation.
